A gathering of intelligence: Global Comms Report comes to life

In early November, PRWeek and Cision unveiled the second annual Global Comms Report. Its goal is to highlight the challenges communicators the world over still face, but also offer solutions to help overcome them.

Of course, data – as both challenge and solution – is front and center in this discussion. And the survey findings dig deep into how measurement and analytics are facilitating tactical changes in recruitment and retention practices, content creation, platform selections, influencer relationships, and so much more.

In an effort to bring the survey to life, a global series of exclusive dinner roundtables were convened between early October and mid-November. This PRWeek/Cision tour came to Toronto, New York, Atlanta, London, San Francisco, and Seattle.

In each location, between 14 and 18 of that city’s very top marcomms pros got together to discuss topics including:

The evolving comms-marketing relationship

General consensus: It’s improving.

The true value of the data that comms pros are collecting

General consensus: Data on clicks and reads is strong, data to link content consumption to real-world activity is getting better, but still has a way to go.

Identifying the right influencers

General consensus: There is no one-size-fits-all answer, but traditional media, despite some thoughts to the contrary, remains a powerful source to impact consumer behavior.

Anytime you can get this much marcomms brainpower into one room, it’s a special occasion. And Cision and PRWeek were able to duplicate that six times. We are proud to share some images of these exclusive gatherings, as well as identify the esteemed leaders who graciously gave of their time and expertise.
